Work On Live Retrofit Projects
Our team installs robotic palletising and packing retrofits into existing lines, so the work is practical, site based and varied. One week you may be helping with conveyor tie-ins in Johannesburg, the next you could be on a commissioning trip to Durban or Cape Town where production windows are tight and the line has to be running before the next shift.
We work with manufacturers that already have conveyors, case packing equipment and end-of-line processes in place, so the job is often about careful integration rather than starting from scratch. That means you need to think clearly, follow site rules and stay calm when a line is under pressure and every minute counts.
- Industrial automation and retrofit work on packing and palletising lines
- Site exposure across Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape
- Work that includes conveyors, safety guarding and controls integration
Roles We Commonly Recruit For
We look for people who can work neatly, learn quickly and communicate well on site. Depending on the project, openings may suit technicians, engineers or project support staff who are comfortable around machinery, tools, drawings and factory schedules.
- Technicians for installation support, fault finding and mechanical fitting
- Engineers for retrofit design, controls integration and commissioning support
- Project staff for scheduling, documentation, site coordination and follow-up
- Service support for maintenance, breakdown assistance and spares planning
Experience with packaging lines, palletising cells, conveyors or industrial controls is useful, but attitude matters just as much. We value people who arrive prepared, ask good questions and take safety seriously every time they walk onto a site.
What A Typical Day Can Include
No two days are the same, which suits people who enjoy variety. A day may start with a site survey in Kempton Park, followed by a meeting with the client about guarding, access points and line flow. Later in the day, you may be checking cable routes, reviewing I/O lists or helping plan a shutdown around production targets.
On other days you may be in the workshop supporting build prep, then out on site in Midvaal or Pretoria for installation management. You may also help with operator training once the retrofit is commissioned, so the line team understands the new equipment and how to run it safely.
Skills That Help You Fit In Well
We are looking for practical people who can handle site conditions, work neatly and keep good records.Coastal humidity in places like Gqeberha and Durban also means you need to think about corrosion, cable protection and maintenance from the start.
- Mechanical or electrical aptitude
- Understanding of conveyor lines, sensors and control panels
- Good fault finding and safe working habits
- Clear communication with clients, operators and other contractors
- Willingness to travel when projects require it
If you have worked on factory floors, plant shutdowns or commissioning teams before, that helps. If not, but you have strong technical ability and want to build real experience, we still want to hear from you.
How To Apply Through Our Enquiry Form
We do not ask people to send random messages across multiple channels. Use the enquiry form on our contact page and choose the careers or support option if it is available. Include your name, where you are based, the role you want and a short note on your technical experience.

Why People Join ReAutomated
ReAutomated's work centres on retrofit projects for packing and palletising lines across South Africa. That gives team members a chance to tackle real industrial challenges, not only classroom theory. You will see how design decisions affect installation time, line reliability and the way operators use the equipment each day.
Our projects also bring together site surveys, retrofit design, conveyor integration, safety guarding design, risk assessment support and commissioning support. If you want to learn across the full process and not only one small part of it, this kind of work can be a good fit.
We support clients in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Gqeberha, the East Rand and Midvaal, so the work has reach and variety. If you are practical, dependable and ready for industrial automation work, we would like to hear from you.
