Careers

Working with us means joining a team that retrofits robots onto packing and palletising lines for factories across South Africa. Based in Spartan, Kempton Park, we support projects from first site walk-through to commissioning and ongoing service.

Why Join Our Retrofit Team

ReAutomated works with manufacturers that need practical automation on existing lines, not a full factory rebuild. That means every job is different, from fitting a cobot cell beside a conveyor to adding guarding, controls integration and operator training around a live production line. If you like real site work and solving problems that matter on the floor, you will fit in here.

We are a South African team with projects in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Gqeberha and other industrial areas, so the work can include travel, early starts and time on site with production teams. Our people need to think clearly, work neatly and understand that safety comes first, always.

Roles We Commonly Hire For

We do not keep the same job mould for every project. Depending on the workload, we may bring in people with experience in mechanical fitting, electrical work, controls, field service and site supervision. Some roles are hands-on at customer sites, while others are based more in planning, drawings, spares and support.

  • Automation and controls support for retrofit projects
  • Electrical and mechanical installation assistance
  • Site supervision and commissioning support
  • Service coordination and maintenance planning
  • Operator training and breakdown support

What Our Work Involves On Site

Our projects often start with a site line survey and a review of the existing conveyors, packing points and palletising flow. From there we look at integration, guarding and practical access for operators and maintenance staff. A good candidate understands that a retrofit must work with the plant that is already there, not against it.

Work can include cable routing, sensor setup, interlocks, testing stops and starts, and making sure the line can be maintained without unnecessary downtime.

Safety, Risk And Working Around Live Production

Every site needs its own risk assessment. There is no one-size-fits-all answer when you are adding robotic handling to a line that already has people, conveyors and production targets. We expect our team to work with guarding design, lockout procedures and safe commissioning practices in a practical way.

  • Following site safety rules and permit requirements
  • Working with guarding, interlocks and emergency stops
  • Supporting safe start-up, testing and handover
  • Respecting plant rules, shift patterns and housekeeping

If you are the kind of person who notices a loose cable, an awkward access point or a guard that needs rechecking before the line runs, that is the mindset we value.

How To Apply

To apply, send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and note the kind of work you are looking for. We review applications for current and future opportunities in Kempton Park and at sites across South Africa. Please include your experience with robots, conveyors, controls, packing lines, palletising systems or service work where relevant.

If you have worked on installations in factories, warehouses or distribution centres, include that too. We do not need a long cover note. A clear CV, your location and a short summary of your experience is enough to start the conversation.

What It Is Like To Work With Us

Our team is practical, focused and used to working under real production pressures. One day may involve a conveyor integration check in Midvaal, the next a commissioning visit in Durban or a service call in the East Rand. That variety keeps the work interesting and it also means everyone must be ready to learn and communicate well.

We value people who take pride in neat workmanship, careful testing and clear handover notes. If you can work with others, solve problems calmly and keep quality in mind, you will do well here.

Retrofit questions

Do you only hire engineers?

No. We look for a mix of technical people across automation, controls, electrical, mechanical, site supervision and service support roles depending on project needs.

Do I need experience with robots?

Robot experience helps, but we also consider people with strong conveyor, packing line, electrical or controls experience who are willing to learn retrofit work on site.

How do I apply for a role?

Send your CV through the enquiry form on our contact page and mention the role type you are interested in, plus your current location and relevant experience.
